Benefits And Features
A modular software suite offering the complete spectrum of Volume Graphics functionality.
Basic functionality
Benefit from the basic functionality of CT reconstruction, visualization, segmentation, animation, automation (or batch processing) and reporting for visual inspection purposes.
Geometry analyses
The metrology features of VGSTUDIO MAX enable you to measure accurately on an array of data types and utilize algorithms that have been verified by the German National Metrology Institute PTB and NIST, the National Institute of Standards and Technology of the United States Department of Commerce.
Material analyses
Discover what’s below the surface of your scanned parts with an array of analyses that enable you to detect, characterize, and visualize porosity and inclusions, for example, and calculate the effect of the defect.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I measure distances or angles?
You have two possibilities: Simple and fast via the instruments or detailed, precise, and compliant with standards via the functionalities of the Coordinate Measurement module. Learn more here: Tutorials Coordinate Measurement - Introduction and Advanced.
My porosity/inclusion analysis does not find certain pores, what can I do?
Please deactivate the Option Filter Result on Tab Settings. Maybe the pores are detected but filtered out. Afterward, you can add an annotation on a pore that was not found before to find out which filter option is responsible and must be adapted (may it be probability, max. size, …).
When pores still are not found, activate the option Preview. This helps to analyze which settings must be adapted. To reduce time this approach could be performed on a small representative ROI.
Learn more here: Tutorial Porosity/Inclusion Analysis.
How can I calculate an analysis in a macro?
Once an analysis has been set up, it can be used in macros. To do so, save them as an evaluation and import it as a step of the macro. Learn more about macros here: Tutorial Automation with Macros and Batch Processing
How can I change the rendering settings in a macro?
Set up the views as desired, create a bookmark, and export it via the bookmark editor. When recording the macro, import the bookmark template and apply the bookmark. Learn more about rendering here: Tutorial Rendering a Volume Object.
How can I save my project in a single file to provide it to my customer or colleague?
Save the project via File > Pack and go, click Pack, and select the format .vgarchive.
